The “virus” of ecomafia does not stop or know crisis

Observations on the Ecomafia 2020 report

Issue 4/2021

Abstract. The present contribution is intended to provide a concise analysis of data and contests of the latest report “Ecomafia 2020” by Legambiente. The framework herein outlined gives cause of concern regarding environmental offences and the role played by organized crime in our country. This overview aims for a better understanding of both the extent of a few illegal activities and the results achieved by law enforcements, Port authorities and magistrates in order to prevent and contrast illegality. Unfortunately, the figures speak for themselves: in spite of the multiple efforts undertaken, illegal acts are on the rise.
